F1 Babelfish – Europe

I guess Lewis doesn't want to hear the truth

Another Grand Prix and another weekend at Valencia where lots of people away fuming at the circuit that usually produces nothing. Grrrr they said, Baaaah they cried, Uugggh they exclaimed and apparently Zzzzz they snored. But no matter what you thought of the race it was another Formula 1 weekend with plenty of talk. With new rules coming in for qualifying and a big new change in a few weeks, there was plenty to be said. Team bosses dealing with driver change rumours, drivers dealing with their own rumours, and even the odd random footballer who appeared out of nowhere for no apparently reason. Let’s see what Valencia had to offer.

“I saw Petrov quite late, even though I was aware that he was coming, and tried to brake as late as possible and go round the corner with him” – Michael Schumacher

Translation:  Going round a corner up someone’s sidepod? I suddenly feel like I’m back where I belong.

“In any case, this record is a bit paradoxical and has a precise significance: the Valencia race in my opinion has indicated another winner, besides [Sebastian] Vettel as usual. That winner is technology,” – Jarno Trulli

Translation: If I sound deeper with my moaning and use long words perhaps Lotus will keep me on next year.

“I do think that we should be pleased that we beat some better cars today.” – Rubens Barrichello

Translation: Take that, HRT!

“The Spanish driver, in front of his home fans, managed to end up ahead of a Red Bull to secure a fantastic podium finish.” – Stefano Domenicali

Translation: You know, I completely forgot about Felipe.

“I am very happy with this result, especially after I only qualified in eighteenth place,”  - Jaime Algeursauri

Translation: Did I mention I started 18th? Did I mention that? Oh, I didn’t think I did. Have I told Daniel this yet?

“Unfortunately at the last round we just didn’t have enough to stay ahead of him with Mark to get the one-two, but a one-three is still fantastic.” – Christian Horner

Translation: Uggghh, third. Who finishes third?!

“Obviously our performance wasn’t the best but the local support has been great and we were hoping for more here.” – Narain Karthikeyan

Translation: They told us the car would be run on support instead of fuel today. They lied.

“I lost a position to Adrian (Sutil) and then had to fight hard not to lose more. I finished more or less where I had been for the majority of the race.” – Nick Heidfeld

Translation: Now I know how Chumbawumba felt.

“Every circuit is different, we’ll have some developments there, others will. That’s the interesting thing about this season” – Martin Whitmarsh

Translation: And now, I shall make a statement that rivals the joy of watching of paint drying.
